Activities

A wide range of activities are provided by Bibbys Farm. Choose from the selection below.

All activities must be carried out in accordance with the Scout Associations POR rules.

Leaders of other youth organisations or schools must either satisfy themselves that the site's activity risk assessments are acceptable to them or undertake their own risk assessments.

Please note 4 weeks notification is required to enable us to organise qualified instructors

As the activities are carried by volunteers mid week day time bookings will require professional instructors. Check with site additional costs for mid week bookings Click here for activity booking form

Site Climbing Wall

Using our purpose built indoor or outdoor climbing walls we can offer climbing / abseiling facilities to develop rock climbing skills. We offer wall hire either with instructors or on a self help basis. Full equipment is provided and we can cope with all ages from 8 years upwards. Groups with their own suitably qualified leaders may make use of the wall but you will be asked for proof of qualifications. Session times are 10.00am - 12.00 noon and 14.00pm - 16.00pm

For ages above 14 years upwards climbing in local quarries can be arranged for parties up to maximum of 8,

Archery

Our archery ranges (indoor and outdoor) are suitable for people of all ages. Groups can hire our equipment with or with out instructors on an hourly basis. Groups with their own equipment and suitably qualified leaders may make use of the archery range but you will be asked for proof of qualifications.

Session times are 10.00 am-12.00 Noon and 14.00 pm–16.00 pm

There is no restriction on the number of people on the activity within the hour long session but to have a “proper go” groups of over 9 should book more than 1-hour session

Bell Boating

In conjunction with the Adlington Canoe Club we can provide bell boating on the Leeds / Liverpool / canal 15 minutes from camp site/

A maximum of 8 people are recommended for a 2.0 hour session. Session periods 10.00 am to 12.00 noon and 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Assistance with transport will be required.

Kayaking

We can provide Kayaking on a B1 classified lake adjacent to the site.

A maximum of 8 people can be accommodated for 1.0 hour sessions. Session periods 10.00 am to 12.00 noon and 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm

Participant should be able to swim a minimum of 50 metres

Group with their own qualified leaders may make use of the facilities, but you will be asked for proof of qualifications.

Rafting

Rifle Shooting

Our rifle ranges are suitable for people above the age of 8.0 years. Groups can hire the range and equipment, with instructors . Groups with their own equipment and suitably qualified leaders may make use of the rifle range, but you will be asked for proof of qualification.

Crate climbing

We offer facilities and equipment for the activity either with an instructor or on a self help basis. Suitable qualified leaders may supervise the activity but you will be asked of proof of experience or demonstrate your proficiency at belying.

Pedal Cars

The site has four Pedal Karts and a course suitable for both racing and skill time trials

Aerial Runway

The site has equipment and facilities to construct an aerial runway

Minimum age 8 years with a maximum group size of 10 . Four leaders would be required to run activity as self help

Orienteering

Obstacle / Low ropes Course

Under leaders supervision the obstacle course is there for all to use.

The low ropes course is suitable for all ages and there is no charge, however it will be necessary to book a session with reception.

Pioneering

A wide range of pioneering poles, ropes pulleys and shackles are available for hire. Pioneering project task sheets are also available from the Wardens to give you some suggestions of pioneering projects you may wish to tackle

Grass sledges and protective equipment is available for hire on an hourly basis.
